"I just wanted to reach out to let you know the enormous impact that your support for XXXX has had already.

For the first time in months he is engaged, up and logging in to sessions without any prompting and we are seeing glimmers of the boy he was coming through again in lots of aspects of life. XXXX even used camera and mic in his very first 1:1 session, which would have seemed completely impossible to us even a week ago"

Our Subjects & Classes

Subjects covered in group classes include English, Maths, Science, Global Perspectives, Digital Literacy, Study Skills, English as an Additional Language, Art & Design, Humanities, Functional Skills & STEM Projects. We can offer a wider range of subjects at 1:1 including languages and Geography (subject to availability). We follow the Cambridge Curriculum and support learners ages 8-16.

Climate Action

In this class, learners can expect to engage in interactive discussions about climate action and its various challenges, exploring how geographical features impact different countries. Activities may include games like GeoGuessr to enhance geographical knowledge, as well as projects focused on specific countries, allowing learners to delve into topics such as climate relationships, natural resources, and geopolitical history.

Overall, the class fosters a curious and inquisitive environment, encouraging deep exploration of global issues.

Digital Literacy

Digital Literacy sessions provide an interactive and practical learning experience, equipping learners with essential digital skills for the modern world. Through discussion, hands-on activities, and real-world applications, they will explore topics such as responsible online behavior, safe use of social media, cyberbullying prevention, digital ethics, and the impact of AI.

They will also develop skills in using digital platforms for education and the workplace, enhancing their ability to navigate an increasingly digital society with confidence and awareness.

Global Perspectives

In these sessions learners can expect an engaging, interactive approach that fosters critical thinking and real-world connections. Through debate, discussion, and inquiry-based learning, they will explore topics such as human rights, technological advancements, immigration, poverty, gender inequality, cultural festivals, and even how food varies around the world.

Each learner has their own virtual whiteboard for notetaking. They can access classes and content outside of the timetabled hours and can use the chat, camera, video and communication tools as little or as much as they like.

"Classroom in a Single Tab"

Imagine an online classroom that's as simple as opening a single tab. This is more than just video and chat. We've created a wholly interactive eco-system designed to keep all learners engaged and interested.

Learner feedback after each session

Our system will automatically notify a learners key contact if a student doesn't attend a session. It will also automatically generate and send detailed feedback on each student after every session.

Safe and secure

Keeping students safe is our number 1 priority. We have an open door policy for our classrooms, so any educator can access any classroom at any time. Every class is recorded - audio and video and we monitor all engagement, online activity and feedback from the learners and can report on this as required by our school partner.

Highly Interactive

Collaborative whiteboards, integrated multimedia content, chat and video functionality, shared and personal spaces to work. This isn't a learner sat alone learning in front of a screen, this is bringing a reimagined classroom to their fingertips. We can adjust all settings per classroom per learner to support safeguarding and deliver the best learner experience.

Available from anywhere, any time

As part of our commitment to being flexible for our learners, our classroom is as accessible from home as it is from the top of a mountain (yes, we've tried it!).

Case Studies

“I am truly blown away by how she has adapted to her Gaia Learning lessons and her positive change towards learning. P loves Gaia!” - P's Mum

13 year old 'P'

Location: North Yorkshire
Joined: September 2023
Loves: Horses
Difficulties: struggles to keep attention in class, has low academic confidence, is awaiting an ADHD assessment

P joined our lower secondary timetable in September and now attends 16 sessions a week. Over the summer we also supported her mum by giving her access to our legal team, who helped her to navigate the complicated process of applying for local authority funding.

I would strongly recommend Gaia to any family who have neurodivergent children or anxiety. 'S' was quickly welcomed by all teachers. 'M' especially made her feel really welcome.

For me as a parent my
mental strain was relieved as I could not home educate and work at the same time . This was the best option for a 'S', and I’m pleased to say she’s thriving with Gaia."

'E', Mum to 12 year old 'S'

Families FAQ's

Can my child go back into school?

Do you accept students from overseas?

How does it work with exams?

Yes we focus on what is best for the learner and want them to thrive with their learning. If your child is best in a physical school we will work with you and the school to make that happen. Learners can be with us for a day, week or term - whatever works for you.

Yes absolutely. All of our curriculum and content is international and part of the Cambridge curriculum. We run our main class timetable in GMT and can offer 1:1 additional tuition more responsive to your timezone.

Learners who are homeschooled can be registered as a private learner with Cambridge - our partnership with Tutors and Exam centres means we can help you find the right exam centre at the right time across multiple exam boards.

How do you get to know the student?

Can my child have a taster lesson?

We spend time to build a relationship with your child as this is fundamental to success. We recognise their strengths and listen to their needs. If they are in school, have a care plan or there is specific insight from the family and educational community which can be shared we welcome that also.

Absolutely. We offer up to 30 minutes of a free taster lesson to show the student how to use our tech, and get to know the child’s interests to understand how we can best work together.

Have you worked with children who are Autistic?

My child has an EOTAS, what happens now?

What are the fees?

Yes. Our educators are all SEN trained and experienced in working with children with additional needs and learning difficulties. For tuition, your child is personally matched to a tutor that will best support their needs. For our online school, we form small groups of up to 8 or 12 students who have similiar challenges and learning goals.

We can help. Connect us in to your SENCO lead at the school or main contact or your local authority and we will do the rest.

We build a flexible plan for your child depending on their need. Group sessions are £35 + VAT and 1:1 sessions are £65 + VAT.

If you're looking for a 'full group timetable' this is typically 12 x group sessions per week which is £420 + VAT.

Why Gaia Learning are the right fit...

30 minute lessons & Regular breaks

  • This allows for better engagement and attention, which is crucial for neurodivergent learners.
  • Breaks are essential for physical and mental well-being, and can help prevent burnout and disengagement.

Fridays off for Projects & Afternoon for sports

  • This gives your child the opportunity to pursue their own interests and passions, promoting self-directed learning and motivation.
  • Afternoons off for sport, projects, and independent learning: This provides a balanced approach to learning and encourages physical activity, which is important for the well-being of all students.
besa BRITISH EDUCATIONAL SUPPLIERS ASSOCIATION

No homework but interest based projects for badges & a global community

  • This promotes self-directed learning and allows your child to pursue their interests in a way that is meaningful to them.
  • Regular open sessions to see other children: Socialization is important for all students, and online schools can provide a unique opportunity to connect with peers from around the world.

A focus on Life Skills & Goal Setting

  • Life Skills, Communication skills, Assembly: These skills are essential for your child's personal and professional growth, and an online school can provide a unique environment for developing them.
  • Guided goal setting at the start of the week and week ends with reflection: This helps your child stay on track and be more mindful of their progress, promoting a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence.

Flipped Classroom & Educator contact

  • Flipped classroom resources can be differentiated by language, font style and size (useful for dyslexic learners) adapted to interests (ADHD interest-based nervous system), helpful for EAL families: This helps ensure that all students have access to the same information and can learn in a way that works best for them.
  • Teachers can be contacted through the flipped classroom, and parents can also support each other in the discussion forum. This promotes communication and collaboration between teachers, students, and parents, which is crucial for the success of any online school.
